How to Organise a Successful Cocktail Party

The trick to throwing a good cocktail party is to have a short list of interesting cocktails that can be prepped ahead of time.  The 2018/19 holiday cocktail menu at Martini Towers contains two short drinks (a vodka martini and a negroni), along with a long drink (Moscow Mule) and a champagne based drink (Champagne cocktail).  The negroni is pre mixed and barrel aged. The Moscow Mule is pre mixed (bar the ginger beer) to make for easy pouring.

I write out specific directions so that my Portuguese mate who helps out at parties can mix the cocktails without supervision.  Greet your guests with a cocktail (in this case a Champagne Cocktail) so they don’t feel intimidated into getting a glass of wine. I then give them a written menu which always leads to much discussion – and joyous imbibing.
